

MEET THE CHIEF
Chief Russ Ciballi has dedicated over 30 years to law enforcement, earning a distinguished reputation for his leadership and negotiation skills. Commencing his career in 1993 as a patrol officer, Ciballi quickly rose through the ranks to Deputy Chief of Police with Genoa Township Police Department until his retirement thanks to his commitment to public safety and his ability to connect with the community.
For 16 years, Chief Ciballi specialized as a lead negotiator, managing high-stakes situations with a calm and strategic approach. His expertise in crisis negotiation has been instrumental in resolving numerous critical incidents, emphasizing his deep care for community members.
Throughout his tenure, Chief Ciballi has been awarded multiple commendations for his service, including several Officer of The Year awards, a Meritorious Service Award, and many commendations for community service. His leadership style focuses on teamwork, transparency, and fostering trust between law enforcement and the community.
Currently, as Chief of Police, he continues to advocate for innovative policing strategies, community engagement, and continued and specific training to ensure the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Chief Ciballi holds degrees in Criminal Justice from Tiffin University and has completed many advanced courses in many numerous areas of law enforcement and leadership development. He is committed to mentoring the next generation of officers, emphasizing the importance of integrity, empathy, transparency and dedication in law enforcement.
Outside of his professional duties, Chief Ciballi has 5 children who he enjoys spending time with whenever he can.
