Welcome to the village of Utica, Ohio.
The Village of Utica is a small community in central Ohio nestled in a lush valley along the bank of the North Fork of the Licking River. Utica is located at the crossing of State Route 13 and U.S. Route 62, and is 12 miles north of Newark, 12 miles south of Mt. Vernon, and 35 miles east of Columbus, the state capitol. The village covers approximately 1.71 square miles, with a population of 2,294 residents (Census).
A full-time police department and County Line Joint Fire District provide public safety services to residents and visitors of the village. The village also maintains water and wastewater treatment facilities, with a current capacity to support 10,000 residents.
Two gas stations, a doctor’s office, chiropractor, veterinary clinic, a weekly newspaper, two banks, seven churches, several restaurants, and numerous other businesses provide all the services necessary for a thriving community. There are two hospitals within 15 miles. A branch of the Licking County Public Library is also located in the village.
The Village of Utica has an excellent educational system as well. Part of North Fork Local School District, the village is home to Utica High School, Utica Middle School, and Utica Elementary School. Students wishing to attend vocational school at C-Tec are transported. There are also several institutions of higher education within a short distance, including the Newark branch of the Ohio State University, Central Ohio Technical College, Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, and Kenyon College.
